What is a good state geography project for an elementary age child ie..using clay, etc. for 3-d effe

My child has to put together a state project showing certain areas of the state ie. lakes, mountain regions, etc. Any ideas or suggestions from anyone who may have done a similar project?

I like the idea of using different colored play dough . Use a thin board such as luan and create the shape of the state. Then add mountains from brown, carve out rivers, add blue for lakes ,etc. Seems simple enough to meet the requirements. You could add paper lables posted on toothpicks stuck into the dough before it hardens ifneeded.

IE is at least as vulnerable to viruses as Firefox. (I use IE for one purpose only - connecting to a particular VPN for which there's no client that runs under Firefox.) I've never found a program I can download with IE that I can't download with Firefox.

(Firefox and IE use the same information to connect to the internet, so you evidently changed something between the last time IE worked and the first time it didn't. Figure out what that was and change it back.)

You go up to the badge area on top of Internet explorer and right click. In the menu select address bar and it should appear.

Actually, Ive been using 7 beta for some months now, and have come to really like it.

To answer your question, you should see a button on the 7.0 toolbar that looks like a little grey gear with the word "tools" and a down-pointing arrow. Click the down arrow, go to "toolbars, then go over to "classic menu" and click it. that should give you your old familar menu back.

However, if you're unhappy with IE7, you can remove it from Start%26gt;%26gt;Control Panel%26gt;%26gt;Add/Remove. Once uninstalled, you should revert back to IE6.
IE in general is the WORST idea EVER.

Use FireFox. IT is free and soooooooooooooooooo much better and faster and SAFER!!!
when inside ie7 u can see the "menu bar" by pressing the "Alt" key. If u want it back permanently u will have to hack the registry. then there's always the third option 'switch' to a better browser - while the whole world is fiddling with firefox I beleive Opera is the best anyone can get.
it was ! right click on the tool bar and it will give you those options put a check by what you want to display. i had it and removed it , it caused me to have to reconfig my router then i removed it no problems.
Hey lets not forget that IE7 is a beta release and has lots of bugs to be fixed!

Though you might manage to get the menu back, it does slow down your system and downloading is a pain. I suggest you uninstall it and use ie6 or Firefox.

Trouble trying to download a (semi)large file.occurs in Firefox and IE?

I was trying to download a 50mb file(large to me due to dialup) and after hit hit the 10mbs downloaded part it says download complete????it took me quite some time to even download that much and it just cuts off?this was in firefox by the way.is there a erm... security feature or something that i need to turn off?

So then i decided to try in IE and sure enough right at the 10mb point it says download complete.This is where my security feature hypothesis was formulated.why would 2 different browsers both cut off at the same point? I've looked thru the download options on both browsers and found no luck. I'm using vista home premium btw.maybe the security feature has to do with vista?

Any help appreciated.

I have had the same problem before and it was because of the source i was downloading from.

Try getting the file else wear and use a download manager like Download Accelerator etc...

You've most likely accidentally registered with Yahoo! UK instead of your own country's Yahoo!. Not a problem....simply re-register with your own Yahoo!, or call up the International Yahoo! list %26amp; go to Canada or the U.S., wherever you are.

IE 7 really sucks -- it is trying to be Mozilla Firefox and failing --- just switch to the real thing -- Mozilla Firefox, it is free and MUCH more stable.
