Is there any way to import IE favourites?

I've installed a new HD and want to bring all my IE favourites over to my new drive. I didn't think about it before I swapped them over, so didn't save them as an export file.

Is there any way that I can bring them in, without either 1) having to do it manually i.e. 1 by 1, or 2) having to swap my drives back over again.

Many thanks

Yeah you can copy all at once. I assume your previous Windows installation was in C: drive and the username was Suman. Navigate through this path .

C:\Documents and Settings\Suman\Favorites\

Here you will find all the Favorites of Inter Explorer. You have copy these folder and have to overwrite the folder in the New Windows installation same path.

Your favorites are held in a folder in the following location:

C:\documents and settings\"your user name"\favorites

Just copy all the contents of this folder to a USB memory stick and then paste them into the same folder on your new drive.
go to start. search. all files and folders, and search favorites. when the favorites folder comes up you should compress it and save it to a floppy or some other media (because if you just copy the favorites folder to a floppy it will take a millenium!)
file/import export

you can also import firefox bookmarks into ie favorites and vice versa
Well, you actually should have prepared this before you swapped the drives.

In WinXp you go to Start...All Programs...Accessories..System Tools....File %26amp; Settings Transfer Wizard. The save to flash drive/disc.
Try this:

Start, All Programs, Accessories, system Tools, Files %26amp; Settings Transfer Wizard

Launch it and follow the online instructions. It has the facility to import the files, settings, Emails an Favorites etc etc.

Hope this helps.
IE7

Import "Favorites" from here

D:\Documents and Settings\Your Name.xxxxx\Favorites

or copy "Favorites" directory to

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name.xxxxx\Favorites

Firefox

Bookmarks %26gt; Organize Bookmarks %26gt; File %26gt; Import from

D:\Documents and Settings\Your Name.xxxxx\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\0qgyqz4g.d...

File: bookmarks.html

Or copy file bookmarks.html to

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name.xxxxx\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\0qgyqz4g.d...

File: bookmarks.html

Backup utilities for IE7 and Firefox

For Internet Explorer:

Install and run: BackRex Internet Explorer (free)

http://www.backsettings.com/internet-exp...

BackRex Internet Explorer Backup is a backup and restore tool for Internet Explorer. It allows you to backup favorites, history, proxy settings, fonts, dialup accounts, autocomplete passwords and cookies.

For Firefox:

Install and run: Firefox Extension Backup Extension (FEBE)

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2109/

"FEBE backs up your extensions, themes, and (optionally) your bookmarks, preferences, passwords, cookies and just about everything else Firefox offers."

Create a directory such as "Firefox Backup" and "IE7 Backup" for each browsers backup data in your "My Documents Folder".

This way whenever you backup you "my documents" files you will also backup your browsers settings. Repeat logged as each user.
