Cannot play Yahoo news videos in IE or Firefox; grey screen and script error?

I have WinXP SP2, IE, Firefox, all updated. I have cable. I used to be able to view Yahoo news videos months ago but now it doesn't work. I've tried ALL recommended solutions to this problem with no success. I've installed the Windows media codecs and reinstalled WMP 10. I checked Active X scripting options. I don't have popup blocker or antivirus on.

When I click on a video link in Internet Explorer, it loads the wide grey screen box and then nothing happens. A script error message pops up with this info:

Line:156

Char:5

Code:0

Error:Automation server can't create object

URL:http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/scp_v3/dete...

When I try the video link in Firefox it looks like it's about to work; I see the screen and player buttons but then before it connects the browser just closes by itself.

I can watch movie trailers and music videos with no problem. Strangely, news videos at foreign Yahoo sites like Yahoo UK will work. Is it this cosmos URL that's bad?

Cannot play Yahoo news videos in IE or Firefox; grey screen and script error?replacement windows internet explorerI have the same problem which started in the last month or two. I have made upgrades and downloads etc. but still cannot whatch Yahoo News Video or other Video through Yahoo. I can watch video using other browsers or services like ABC News, CBS News and others. Does anyone have a good solution? Report It

I went to Norton Internet Security and clicking Norton Protection center tab, I then clicked on web browsing under your activities. I see Ad blocking and Pop-up blocking. I turned those 2 off. I went to Yahoo video and what do you know, IT'S working!!! Report It

I cannot either. Have you found a solution? I used to as well, but with the new look, which I think is horrible, I cannot view anything either.
